Men's Breeches

Button Fly Knee Breechesbreeches.jpg

Button Fly Breeches as seen in "The After" painting by Hogarth and painted fan with scenes from The Battle of Portobello 1740. Breeches are made of linen, cotton canvas or Cotton Drill. They are hand dyed or natural with pewter buttons and ties at the knees. Looking through source after source we see little evidence of buttons at the knees for working class men, but rather ties that also help to hold the stockings up. Our ties are made of cotton tape. With linen and metal buttons $75

With cotton and metal buttons $65 of wool $85

Button Fly Breeches with Button Kneesbutton_breeches.jpg

Same breeches as our button fly knee breeches, but with four buttons on the sides of each knee.add $8  (Shown in Damask)

Slops (For want of a better word)slops.jpg

Perhaps trousers. These are made from a variety of fabrics, including canvas, striped cotton, drill and Virginia lined. They have a fly front, gussetted behind and full cut legs to about mid-calf. Can be worn over breeches or not. The source of my design is "The Battle of Portabello" 1740 fan painting, Hogarth's "Chairing the Members" 1758, "Idle Prentice Executed at Tyburn" 1747 and "The Times" 1762 These are as shown are hand painted  with brass buttons $ 90, linen with metal buttons $75
